East Grinstead Swimming Club Complaints Procedure
East Grinstead Swimming Club (EGSC) is predominantly run by volunteers. The club welcomes ideas, constructive criticism and encourages participation from its members – be it positive or negative.
However, teaching staff should not be approached at pool side with any ideas or criticism to ensure the safety and continuous effective teaching of the children. It is preferable that a complaint is managed directly with the person(s) concerned at a mutually convenient time as soon as possible, to avoid unnecessary anxieties for all concerned. If it is not possible to resolve the complaint, or it is of a serious nature, a formal complaint will be necessary.
At EGSC all coaches, volunteers and swimmers have agreed to follow the ASA Codes of Conduct and Codes of Ethics which can be found in the 'Club Swimmers Area. Should an issue arise where these codes are not being followed then a formal complaint will need to be made.
- Date and nature of the complaint
- Name(s) of person involved
- Contact details
The complaint will be investigated by the Chairman who may discharge this responsibility. Advice may be sought from the ASA and/or EGSC committee members. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times by the club and by the complainant as it may jeopardise any investigation.
If the complainant is not satisfied with the outcome he/she may decide to contact the ASA.
Most concerns can be resolved quickly and easily. The flow chart below explains how to report any issues, concerns or complaints:
