Stand Up to Cancer Swimathon

On Saturday 16th November from 2pm – 4pm at Kings Centre, East Grinstead swimmers will swim to make a difference.

Inspired by celebrities such as Linford Christie and Alex Brooker from the recent programme Stand Up to Cancer-Sink or Swim, a group of East Grinstead Swimming Club swimmers have decided to challenge themselves by swimming the equivalent of the 21 miles it takes to cross the English Channel, as a combined effort at our clubs swimming pool at Kings Centre.

Kings Centre has kindly donated a lane to the club for any swimmers who would like to swim towards the 21 miles it would take to cross the channel, whilst raising money for this great cause.

Devastatingly, 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. But this is the critical moment for cancer research. Advances in science have put cures within our grasp.

So there’s no time to waste. Please support us and Stand Up To Cancer by giving generously. You’ll be funding translational research; clinical trials focused on finding new treatments as quickly as possible.

Donating through these pages is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.

This is the link: for any welcome donations or to have a look at what they are aiming to achieve.
